Kerry General Hospital is the second largest of the HSE South's seven acute hospitals. The hospital provides acute general hospital services to the population of Co. Kerry (139,616 - 2006 Preliminary Census figures) and additionally to a proportion of the populations of West Limerick and North Cork.

A 46-bed geriatric unit serving the Tralee catchment area is also located in the hospital. 2-beds are allocated to respite care.

The hospital treats 18,500 inpatients per annum and approximately 40,000 patients attend the Outpatients Department annually. Approx. 34,000 attend the Accident & Emergency Department per annum.

Executive Management Board
An Executive Management Board for Kerry General Hospital has been established to ensure that Kerry General Hospital is managed in an efficient and effective manner enabling it to provide the highest quality care to the public. All members of the E.M.B. are appointed by the Chief Officer of the Health Service Executive.
